HOW TO APPLY MAKEUP?

FOUNDATION

It is the most important makeup product a woman can wear. It can gives beauty outside and new appearance to someone who used it.  The right makeup foundation should perfectly match your complexion to have a flawless skin. Before you apply, make it sure that your hands and face are clean. Then, apply a moisturizing sunscreen (moisturizer or primer) that’s perfect for your skin type. All foundations like liquid, cream, powder and camouflage will go on more smoothly if the skin is well-hydrated. In liquid, it should be blended in a little at a time until the entire face is completed. If you have naturally clear skin, liquid foundations may be your best option. Cream foundations should be applied in long sweeping motions using your cosmetic sponge and is best for drier skin types and for more mature skin. Powder foundation should be applied as you would your normal compact powder. Its usually have very good coverage but work best on lighter skin colors. Last, camouflage foundations have been developed exclusively for women who need to conceal marks, acne, vitiligo, etc. But the one problem with such heavy coverage foundations is that they often do not blend well with most skin colors, in a result that look two-toned and artificial.

Proper blending is the key; blend your foundation very well. You must pay attention to the corners of the nose, corners of the mouth, over and under the eyes. Next after putting a moisturizer, set for a few minutes. After this, wipe off any excess moisturizer with a tissue.  Camouflage your dark, under-eye circles with a concealer. Pat, never rub the concealer into skin. Then, using a makeup sponge or the tips of your fingers, apply dots of foundation on your cheeks, chin, forehead and tip of the nose. Makeup artists swear foundation brushes to apply product. They soak up less foundation and blend flawlessly. Again using the sponge, your fingertips or the foundation brush, blend the dots together. Pay special attention to your hairline and jaw line to ensure there’s no obvious line and set the foundation with loose powder immediately after application.

EYELINER

Eyeliner has different types, a pencil, liquid or brush. It can be befuddling, smudged or removed by oiliness, so it is very important to remove any oiliness with an oil paper powder pact, controls oil effectively or Q-tips before applying eyeliner.  You don’t have to apply eyeliner at once. You can just apply it little by little, between eyelashes.  If you use a pencil, set the line with eyeshadow because penciled lines tend to melt and won’t stay put whole day.  However, in liquid liner or eyeliner brush dipped into a deep shadow to line eyes from the inside of the lashes outward in one big sweep. Also, you can line the eye from the middle of the lash line outwardly, and then finish the line from the inner corner of the eye to the middle. Sometimes other liquid eyeliner trick requires a steady hand and will make eyes appear wider.  Now, you can start with a completely bare eye. On the upper lashes, dot the liquid liner into the spaces between the lashes, twisting the liner into the lashes. The result is not supposed to be a line. It’s supposed to look as if the lashes themselves are super thick at the root. Then after, apply mascara and compare your eye to other naked eye. See the difference!

LIPSTICK

Lipstick will be last longer if the entire lip filled with lip liner before applying lipstick.  It can be the finishing touch to a perfectly made up face, and if chosen and applied correctly should be wonderfully pleasing. When you are wearing lipstick it is needed to be sure you look your best.  A lipstick is only going to be as good as the area it is being applied to. To make it simple, your lips need to be as soft and smooth as possible. If your lips are rough and dry, try “brushing “using a soft toothbrush. Using a brush to apply lipstick, start it in the middle of the lips and brush. It can go your lipstick on a more consistent and gives you more control. This ensures you can trace the outline of your lips better, and be sure to stay within the lines of your lip liner. Then enter the imagination of the upper lip, aligning edges and lines, well beyond the lower lip. Then you can finish prepping your lips with a light layer of foundation which ensures a good base.

Another application in lipstick is lip liner; one step that many by pass but if you really want your lipstick to stay put you needs to apply it. Using lip liner can help make your lips look fuller, plumper, so on and so forth. There’s trick to trace your lips just outside your natural lip line with a slightly darker lip liner than your chosen lipstick color. Another is using a sealant, and then you go about wearing lip gloss over your lipstick without worry of losing your lipstick color. Its usage is to protect the color and vibrancy of your lipstick.
Try it now! Be careful to choose your lipstick and explore your creativity to make new and versatile.

EYESHADOW

Before applying eyeshadow, you must choose first the color/s that complement to your eye color. You can pick a light shade for the lid, medium color for the crease and dark color for the lash line. Then after, chose also the eyeshadow base, it helps your colors last longer and stay in place. Now, to apply eyeshadow start with a clean face. Apply the base to your entire eyelid area up to the brow.  (NOTE: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.)  Then, select three complementing eyeshadow colors: light, medium and dark. The medium color is the base, the lightest color is the highlighter, and the darkest color is the contour. If you have round eyes and sockets, concentrate shadow on the outer edges but not a cat eye.  For those with less of a crease, blend the medium shadow across the eye, creating a deeper crease. Also, keep the medium tone near the lash line for almond-shaped eyes. After applying a thin layer of foundation or eye shadow base, place the medium colored shadow onto the main area of your eyelid that is directly over your eyeball; go slightly into the crease with your brush, blend back and forth. Now apply the lightest color (highlighter), using your brush, place shadow onto the lid, under the crease shadow and all to the lash line. After that, apply the darkest color (contour), to the crease with a flat shadow brush; line your eyes with the darkest shade. Blend well and smudge it into the lashes slightly. You’re finished with a coat of mascara!  That’s simple; you may do that at home or anywhere else with just 5 minutes.

MASCARA

Before you start applying mascara you need to get the best mascara that suits your skin tone and the color of your eyes. Like for instance, you have short eyelashes it needs to go for lengthening mascara or thin eyelashes go for thickening mascara. Now, you must need to apply other makeup including foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. This is important as you may need to redo application of mascara if you do not use the eyeliner or makeup correctly. Curl your eyelashes for extra length before you put mascara on is optional. Then, make it sure that you pull all of your hair back so that the hair does not interfere when applying the liquid and will not cause any smudging. You better use a hand mirror for applying mascara, this way you can see your eyelashes properly –from the root to the tips. Just to remind you never look straight into a mirror to apply mascara as you will not be able to see the entire eyelashes.

Subsequently, shake the mascara bottle properly before you open it and rub the end of it to get the excess off that will help in avoiding clumps on the lashes. Position yourself comfortably in front of a mirror.  With a steady hand, place the mascara wand at the root of your eyelashes. For the right curl, direction of the brush should be upwards or outwards. Afterwards, gently pull the wand up to the end of your lashes, slightly jarring the wand back and forth to separate the lashes and prevent clumps. It is usually recommend applying mascara only to the top lashes. But the best if both of your eyelashes on top and bottom would have mascara to make your eyes look wider. Once you are done applying mascara in your eyelashes, it is time to comb your lashes so that they are all separated. Always comb your lashes before they are dry. Otherwise, the mascara will flake off into your eyes and down your cheek. If just in case it happened, take a small cotton bud dipped in baby oil and place it on the top of the smudge, and gently rotate in place until it comes off. Make it sure your other eye make ups are in place.
When you apply mascara remember that you need to remove mascara before going to sleep. It can cause bacterial infection. To be concluded, mascara looks great on women of all age and color and they are the perfect way to get beautiful eyes. Use the mascara that has a good quality and check before using it. It’s just as simple like that, just follow this and you will train to be expert!

BLUSH ON

What is blush?  Blush (rouge) is a type of makeup often applied to the cheek area of the face with a makeup brush in order to even out skin tone or to add more color. Here are some instructions on how to apply blush on to your face:

First, choose your blush type that resembles the natural glow of your cheeks after you exercise. Whichever type you choose, its shade should match your natural coloring. Keep your blush in the same color family as your lipstick. Next, consider the type of blush best suited to your skin type. Cream blush works very well for drier skin, as it can help to keep skin hydrated and powder blush is better suited to oily skin. Consider also the type of brush you want to use; never use a small, cheap brush. If you use a cheap brush, you’ll have a cheap looking result that you might even don’t like.  After that, complete the application of foundation, powder and all eye makeup before applying blush. Use a full, round brush for the application of your powder blush, as it will make for a softer and more professional look than the brush that comes  with the blush. It should not be the same brush you use to apply your loose powder.

Then place a small amount of blush on the brush and gently tap off any excess or place a small amount of cream on your middle finger. Look in the mirror and smile which help emphasize your features and clarify what you are doing. Put powder blush on the apple of your cheek and brush up your cheekbone toward your hairline, while dot cream blush beginning at the apple, and gently blend up the cheekbone toward the hairline for most natural look. Always concentrate the color on the apples of your cheeks and blend well and before blending, always dust off the excess to avoid excessively rosy cheeks. If you have a fuller face, focus your blush at the outside of your face near your hairline. For high cheekbones, concentrate blush in the center of your face to put emphasis on your bones. Finally, blend a little blush down your cheek for a little more natural, less dramatic look and gorgeous. So what are you waiting for? For more makeup tips, check out www.modzed.com/blog/
